6 soldiers killed, 1 wounded during attacks in Mali

LOME, Togo

Six Malian soldiers were killed and one was wounded in attacks Friday in Boni in east central Mali, according to the Malian Armed Forces (FAMA).

"The FAMA posts in Boni came under simultaneous attack this afternoon at around 4:20 p.m., which they responded to, vigorously," it said in a statement.

No group has claimed responsibility for the ambush.

Mali has been plagued by terror attacks by numerous groups for years.

“No human causalities” were reported after an attack on May 23 against an army post in the Segou region.
