Tunisia to host Islamic Development Bank annual meeting

ANKARA

The Islamic Development Bank Group's (IDB) 43rd annual meeting will be held in the first week of April in the Tunisian capital, Tunis, it was announced Wednesday.

The meeting will be attended by nearly 2,000 participants from around the world.

"The meeting offers an ideal platform for to discuss challenges and explore opportunities" facing IDB group member countries, according to the meeting's website.

A hundred topics are expected to be discussed, including digital technologies, sustainable development, Islamic capital, youth employment and food security.

The meeting will gather 57 governors of the group, mostly finance and economy ministers, in addition to hundreds of and top leaders from its international and regional partner institutions, the website added.

It will be held between April 1 and April 5.

The Islamic Development Bank Group is an international Islamic financial institution -- formally opened in 1975 -- to foster the economic development and social progress of member countries and Muslim communities individually.
