Cuba's National Electric System forecast a power supply shortfall of 2,070 megawatts during the evening peak on Friday, according to an update by the state-run electricity utility.
The 2,070 MW shortfall forecast is 130 MW higher than the 1,940 MW effect forecast for the previous evening.
Cuba has faced recurring electricity shortages in recent years, with authorities regularly reporting power supply disruptions and issuing forecasts for expected effects during peak demand periods.
The situation has remained a major concern for households and businesses, as outages can disrupt activities and affect essential services.
The forecast did not specify how many customers could be affected by the projected shortfall, as the distribution of available electricity across the national grid can vary depending on operating conditions.
