Thousands of students blocked roads across capital Dhaka for the fourth day in a row, demanding authorities to arrest the driver of a vehicle which ran over two college students.
A speeding bus on Sunday killed two students at Airport Road.
The protesters demanded road safety and justice.
Traffic remained clogged in the city as students agitated at key intersections.
Public transport remained off streets as clashes erupted between students and transport workers.
Students vandalized buses and transport workers attacked students, local Daily Star reported.
At least four people including a student were beaten and handed over to police.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan in a news conference in Dhaka asked students to call off the protest.
"The demands of the students reached us in various ways. We have accepted all of them.”
He assured that the culprits will get maximum punishment and the government will take action.
