Anadolu Agency's News Academy launched its first course in the “International Journalism Training Program for Central Asia and North Africa” for Ethiopian participants in Istanbul Saturday.
In his keynote address, AA News Academy Coordinator Umit Sonmez congratulated the program participants and said that Ethiopian people were “industrious and hardworking”.
“Ethiopian people are always very hardworking. They always finish their duties successfully. We believe that they will do their best during the nine-day training period,” Sonmez said.
He added that the program would provide participants with training in photojournalism, cameras, diplomacy and sports journalism among a host of subjects.
He also said that the training would improve the participants’ journalistic skills.
The program, in which around 20 people are participating, is slated to end on Dec. 20. Certificates will be awarded to participants who successfully complete the course.
AA’s News Academy was established as part of the agency’s centennial goals for 2020. For the past three years, the academy has held frequent seminars and provided a number of training programs.
