ANKARA
Anadolu Agency has begun accepting applications for its next War Journalism Certificate Program, set to be held on May 15-26 in Ankara.
The program aims to prepare correspondents for dangers that may arise while reporting under emergency situations and states of war and natural disasters.
In the program, Anadolu Agency News Academy will train correspondents jointly with the Turkish Police Academy, Turkey's disaster management agency AFAD, the Turkish Armed Forces, and the Public Order and Security Undersecretariat.
A comprehensive range of subjects will be offered during the program, including journalism, personal security, the laws of war, first aid, advanced driving techniques, water survival techniques, chemical and biological attacks, and media management in hostile environments.
Applicants for the program should be under 35 years old and be graduates of university communications, radio, or television departments or be employed by media outlets.
Accepted applicants will pay 6,000 Turkish lira tuition for the Turkish program and $5,000 for the English program. Press members from NGOs will get a 25 percent discount.
Successful participants will be awarded with internationally recognized certificates.

The application deadline is April 30.
The War Journalism Certificate Program will have three terms, with the first starting on May 15.
The program lasts 12 days, and participants will complete 114 hours of study, including 66 hours of field coursework.
The timeline for the application and certificate programs is as follows:

Application period: Feb. 27 - April 30
Start and end of training: May 15-26
- 10th Term Certificate Program
Application period: Feb. 27 - July 14
Start and end of training: July 31 - Aug. 11
- 11th Term Certificate Program
Application period: Feb. 27 - Sept. 1
Start and end of training: Sept. 18-29
