ANKARA
The Anadolu Agency and the Turkish Red Crescent renewed Wednesday a cooperation agreement that allows Turkey’s leading news agency to inform the public about the relief agency’s assistance.
“We had earlier signed an agreement allowing AA correspondents to participate in the Red Crescent’s works such as delivering aid,” Director-General and Board Chairman of Anadolu Agency Kemal Ozturk said.
Director-General Ozturk stated that now AA would inform people in different languages about the aid the Red Crescent gives to people in need.
“Our correspondents will go wherever the Red Crescent goes, to inform the public of the movement’s assistance provided to oppressed and victims,” said Ozturk.
Ahmet Lutfi Akar, the head of the Turkish Red Crescent, congratulated The Anadolu Agency on its success and said he was very pleased with the news agency’s work.
"Anadolu Agency has gained momentum after Kemal Ozturk came in as director general," Akar said.
The Turkish Red Crescent was founded under the Ottoman Empire on June, 11, 1868 and provides assistance without discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions.
