Canadian film ‘Mommy’ hits Turkish theaters
Twenty-five-year-old French-Canadian director Xavier Dolan’s latest film “Mommy” will hit Turkish theaters on Friday.
The film won Jury Prize at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival and tells the story of single mother Diane’s struggle to deal with her violent teenage son.
“Shot in the square, narrow dimensions of a cellphone video, it is a pocket opera of grandiose self-pity, a wild and uncompromising demand for attention, a cri de coeur from the selfie generation,” said a New York Times critic last month.
“Mommy” is Dolan’s fifth film.
