The Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) Wednesday opened submissions for 12 Punto Script Days, a project aimed at supporting Turkish movies to gain global success.
The competition, which will be held for the fourth time this year, is an event of Turkiye’s largest script development and co-production platform, a TRT statement said.
Submission for feature and short film projects will be made between Jan. 12 and Feb. 12 via the website, www.trt12punto.com.
After feature films are evaluated by a preliminary jury composed of independent and professional filmmakers, 12 finalist projects will be announced on April 12.
Among them three projects will be given the Co-Production Award, three projects the Pre-Buy Award, and six others the Project Development Award.
Also, the Short Film Production Award will be presented to 12 projects. Script development workshops will be held in June for award-winning short films. After the completion of the shooting, the films will be broadcast on TRT 2.
Among the international juries in 2021 were Jasmila Zbanic, the director of the Oscar-nominated movie Quo Vadis Aida?, co-produced by TRT; Rebecca O’Brien, producer of Ken Loach’s films; Sata Cissokho, the head of acquisitions at Memento Films International; Martina Bleis, the head of co-production market at Berlin International Film Festival, and Tracey Vieira, the chief content officer for Emmy and BAFTA award-winning film and television production company Hoodlum.
Last year, nearly 500 projects applied for the competition.
