Details on US-China trade negotiations coming next week: Report

US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said on Friday that the US and China have reached agreements covering a subset of goods the two countries can trade on more favorable terms, with details coming early next week, CNBC reported.

“We’ve actually reached agreement with the Chinese on a number of these things,” Greer told the financial news channel, referring to goods including US agricultural products and medical devices and Chinese consumer goods considered non-sensitive.

Greer said the Trump administration plans to release “a lot more details” on Monday about what the two countries have accomplished in negotiations over the past several weeks, said the report.

On Thursday, US President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping held talks and attended a state dinner. Trump said the two countries have “never gotten along better,” while acknowledging that they “represent different systems.”

Xi said the leaders held “sincere and in-depth exchanges” and reached a common understanding on several issues, adding that the discussions provided “new strategic guidance” for China-US relations.
