Germany's factory orders up 3.7% in November

ISTANBUL

New orders in Germany's manufacturing sector increased 3.7% in November 2021 on a monthly basis, according to official data released on Thursday.

Factory orders were also up 1.3% year-on-year in November, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) announced.

The recovery came after a strong 5.8% decline in October, the statistical authority said.

"In November 2021 the largest increase in new orders (+32.0%) was recorded in the manufacture of other transport equipment (aircraft, ships, trains etc.) for which extensive major orders were reported," Destatis said.

"New orders from the euro area rose by 13.1%," it added.
