Iran will cooperate with oil-producing countries in efforts for reasonable oil prices, Ali Reza Bigdeli, Iran's ambassador to Ankara, said Monday.
In a press meeting, Bigdeli said the decline in oil prices would affect the global economy negatively.
The price of Brent crude oil dropped below $80 per barrel in November -- the lowest point in four years -- from $115.67 per barrel in June.
He stressed on the need for defining an accurate oil price.
"A barrel of oil which equals 159 liters is about $79, while Coca-Cola is $140, Ayran is $190 and olive oil is $2,370 for the same amount," the ambassador said.
Coca-Cola is a soft drink company, while Ayran is a popular yogurt drink.
Bigdeli said the arbitration procedure for a natural gas deal between Turkey and Iran was not a controversy, but a sign of coherent and strong partnership between two countries.
He said the two countries should strive for grand targets instead of little issues and details.
In 2012, Turkey approached an international court of arbitration over Iran's gas pricing.
Bigdeli said negotiations for a reasonable price should carry on.
About the possibility of Iranian gas exports to Europe, he said Turkey was not the only route available for transferring Iranian gas, but it was the best route.
