MOSCOW
The ruble on Tuesday improved 2 percent against the dollar to 54.7200 in Moscow.
It was the third day that the Russian currency increased its value, taking its advance to 12 percent.
The government has ordered five state-controlled exporters, including Gazprom to reduce their foreign-currency holdings by March 1 to levels no higher than on Oct. 1, a government website said.
