Turkey’s manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index released by Markit Economics on Thursday fell slightly from the previous month.
The index slipped to a reading of 48.80 in September from 49.30 in August of 2015.
A reading below 50 indicates a concerned outlook by managers responding to the survey, the report said.
But there are positive changes, the survey showed. There has been a more rapid increase in new export business, linked to the weak exchange rate, and a fall in unemployment, the report said.
"Production fell at the strongest rate since April as new orders declined for the ninth month running,” the report said.
Also the purchasing activity of companies slowed the most since July last year.
“The weakening lira continued to place upward pressure on input prices, which rose at the fastest rate since February 2014,” Markit said.
