ANKARA
Turkey sold $68.69 billion-worth of goods in 2013 to OECD member countries, marking a 3.6 percent increase compared to 2012.
According to data from the Turkish Statistics Institute (TurkStat), Turkey's exports to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries accounted for 45 percent of its total exports, worth $151.86 billion in the last year.
Turkey's exports in 2013 were down 0.4 percent year-on-year, reaching $151.86 billion, while imports were up 6.4 percent year-on-year to $251.6 billion.
Turkey's automobile and sub-industries exported more than $12.2 billion-worth goods to OECD´s members in 2013.
Other export revenues came from knitting garments and accessories with $7.43 billion, machinery and mechanic tools totaled $6.5 billion, and electrical machinery totaled $4.49 billion.
Turkey's biggest importing countries from the OECD, were Germany with $13.7 billion, the UK with $8.77 billion, Italy with $6.7 billion, France with $6.3 billion and the U.S. with $5.6 billion.
Meanwhile, Turkey imported $124.1 billion-worth of goods in 2013 from OECD member countries - a 9.2 percent increase compared to 2012. This accounted for 49.3 percent of Turkey's total imports worth $251.6 billion in the last year.
The main imported products from the OECD were machinery and mechanics tools with $21.6 billion, automobiles and spare parts with $14.55 billion, jewelry with $10.1 billion and Iron and steel with $9.7 billion.
