Turkish Airlines, the country's national flag-carrier, announced that its net profits reached just over 1.5 billion Turkish lira in the year’s third quarter.
Turkish Airlines carried 41.4 million passengers in the first nine months of 2014.
Both its capacity -- measured in Available Seat Kilometers -- and its Revenue Passenger Kilometer increased by 17 percent each.
The airlines statement added that the company’s passenger load factor rose by 79.7 percent.
The number of transit passengers from abroad increased by 23 percent compared to the same period last year, meaning the total number of international passengers has increased by 43 percent.
The company continues to aim to become one of the world’s leading five-star airlines, by increasing its service quality and maintaining a healthy financial structure focused on profitable growth.
Customers voted Turkish Airlines as Europe’s Best Airline each year from 2011 to 2014.
