ANKARA (AA) - August 23, 2012 - Turkish defense industry which has advanced technology military equipment has been planning to attend at least eight defense and security exhibitions next year.
Turkish defense industry exports more than 1 billion USD to nearly 60 countries. Industry has been working hard in the scope of enlarging its share in the international defense and security equipment market.
Lutfi Varoglu, the department head of International Cooperation at Undersecretariat for Defense Industry, told AA that in the recent past Turkish defense industry's products started drawing great interest in the international market so they signed important sales' agreements in 2012.
Varoglu underlined that the IDEF, one of the most important defense exhibitions in 2013, will take place in Istanbul.
He also added that IDEX exhibition which would be held in the United Arab Emirates in February was of great importance for the Turkish defense industry, too.
