ANKARA (AA) - September 5, 2012 - Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz on Wednesday met with Botswana's Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Phandu Tombola Chaka Skelemani in Ankara.
Speaking to reporters while meeting Skelemani, Yildiz said that they would soon set up an energy team, comprised of representatives from public and private sectors, and send this team to Botswana, a country in Africa's south, to work on processing diamonds and silver.
"Big or small, every country has a different capacity. I believe that we can develop excellent relations with Botswana in the energy sector. This is why we came together today," Yildiz stated.
Skelemani, in his part, said that they were sure Turkish businesspeople could help them in generating energy.
We invite Turkish investors to Botswana to facilitate production of electricity from coal and to process diamonds and silver, Skelemani indicated.
