Turkish stock exchange up at open

ISTANBUL

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 7,696.77 points, up 0.21%, or 16.41 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Monday at 7,680.36 points, down 3.54%, with a daily trading volume of 110 billion Turkish liras ($4.06 billion).


The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.0310 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT), while the euro/lira rate stood at 28.8870 and a British pound traded for 33.4630 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $94.90 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,952.55.
