The UK gross domestic product expanded by 0.5% in the second quarter of 2026, following a 0.6% growth in the previous quarter
Official data showed on Wednesday that the nation's economy grew by 1.2% for full-year 2025, marking a 0.1 percentage point downward revision from the prior forecast.
The level of GDP in the second quarter stood 2% higher than in the fourth quarter of 2024, while real household disposable income per head increased by 1% after falling 0.8% in the first quarter.
The household saving ratio rose by 0.2 percentage points to 8.8% in the second quarter, driven by non-pension savings.
The UK reduced its borrowing position with the rest of the world to 2.8% of GDP, versus 2.9% in the first quarter.
