NEW YORK
The stock market opened higher on Thursday amid the ongoing positive sentiment among investors.
The Dow added 47 points to begin trading at 21,059 points.
The S&P 500 increased 4 points to start the day at 2,408 and the Nasdaq rose 19 points to 6,182 points -- both posting a new all-time opening record.
With the positive sentiment among investors, the three major indexes closed with gains for the last five trading days in a row.
