Russian attack on academy building in Kyiv kills 1, injures 6: Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday said that a Russian strike on the Academy of Sciences building in Kyiv killed at least one person and injured six others, including children.

In a statement on US social media platform X, Zelenskyy said Russian forces also struck a medical facility in the city center, with rescuers working to extinguish the resulting fire.

Russia also targeted civilian facilities, businesses and communications infrastructure in Dnipro and other cities and regions, he claimed.

"Russia will definitely face a response to this," Zelenskyy said. "Russia must be held accountable for all of this and face real consequences."

Meanwhile, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram that 19 Kyiv residents were injured in Russian attacks throughout the day.
