Germany: Far-right politician hurt in street attack

BERLIN

Germany’s far-right party lawmaker suffered serious head injuries after being attacked by unknown assailants.

The incident occurred in the northern German city of Bremen, where Alternative for Germany (AfD) lawmaker Frank is heading to the local branch of the party.

Bremen police said the incident was probably a “politically motivated” and asked for the public help to identify the suspects.

The AfD’s local branch in Bremen claimed that the far-left groups were behind the attack, and also accused the Social Democrats and Greens providing support for these groups.
