Probe underway after copy of Quran reportedly burned in Lithuania

Police have launched an investigation into the reported burning of a copy of the Quran, the Muslim holy book, in Vilnius earlier this month, according to local media on Monday.

Lithuanian police received a report from an English-speaking individual on Sept. 13 that a copy of the Quran was being burned at 6 Etmonų Street, the Police Department in Vilnius confirmed to broadcaster LRT.

According to the report, police have launched an investigation into the incident.

A video clip allegedly showing the anti-Islam act was also circulated on social media.​​​​​​​
