ANKARA
A delegation from the Turkish parliament’s Palestine friendship group visited on Tuesday the wounded Palestinians who were brought for treatment from Gaza to Turkish capital Ankara on Monday morning.
Ruling AK Party deputy Muhammed Murtaza Yetis, a member of the delegation, said the Middle East is experiencing a period full of bloodshed and that thousands of people in Gaza lost their lives and were injured.
Israel began a military offensive on the Gaza strip early June with the stated goal of halting missile attacks from the blockaded city.
The attacks since then killed nearly 2,000 Palestinians.
On Tuesday, three more injured Palestinians were brought to Istanbul for treatment from Egypt.
Mohammed Abu-Dayya, Ali Alangar and Hassan Asualeya were flown to a public hospital in coordination with Turkey's international development agency, TIKA, and the Turkish Health Ministry.
One of them is severely injured, officials said.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu announced Monday morning that Turkey plans to receive at least 200 Gazans who are in need of treatment, some of whom are coming from Egypt.
