Thailand’s Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow confirmed Wednesday that three crew members who went missing after a Thai vessel was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz last month are dead, Thai outlet Khaosod reported.
The Mayuree Naree was struck near the stern on March 11 while sailing near Oman, amid heightened regional tensions.
Twenty crew members jumped overboard during the incident and were later rescued by Oman’s navy.
Thailand’s Foreign Ministry had earlier reported that human remains were discovered aboard the vessel during a second search operation.
