Israeli forces raid village near UN post in southern Syria

An Israeli military patrol raided the village of Al-Khan al-Gharbi near a UN post in Syria’s southern Quneitra countryside, marking another violation of the Arab country’s sovereignty, Syrian media reported on Tuesday.

Alikhbariah TV said several homes were searched by Israeli forces during the raid.

No further details were immediately available about casualties or arrests.

For months, southern Syria has witnessed recurring Israeli incursions and attacks, including raids, searches, arrests and the establishment of military checkpoints.

The violations intensified after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in December 2024, when Israel declared the collapse of the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement and seized control of the Syrian buffer zone.
