ANKARA/HAKKARI, Turkey
Turkish security forces killed at least eight PKKterrorists in northern Iraq on Monday, officials said.
The Turkish Air Force killed four PKK terrorists after they were spotted by a drone inMount Suki region, on the Iraqi side of the border, said a statement issued by the Hakkari Governor's Office
Later on Monday, four PKK terrorists were killed in another airstrike at Avasin Basyanarea of northern Iraq, the Turkish General Staff said in a statement.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its armed campaign in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of some 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians, including a number of women andchildren.
