KABUL, Afghanistan
A suicide attack against a NATO convoy in Kabul on Monday killed two civilian contractors, the U.S.-led International Security Assistance Force confirmed in a press release Monday.
A bomb-laden vehicle was detonated as the convoy passed, witnesses said.
The attack in eastern Kabul also wounded seven Afghan civilians, a security official said.
NATO will end its 12 year mission in Afghanistan in December. Newly released figures showed that 57,000 ISAF troops currently remain in the country, down from about 100,000 in June.
The Taliban and other militant groups have stepped up their attacks on government and foreign troops as Afghan forces prepare to assume full responsibility for security later this year.
