A bomb-laden vehicle exploded on Wednesday before a building of Libyan Foreign Ministry in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi, causing severe damage.
A bomb-laden vehicle detonated before a foreign ministry building in central Benghazi, leading to serious damage to the surrounding buildings including the Benghazi Office of Libyan Central Bank, security sources said,
Neither casualties have yet been reported following the blast nor an official statement has been made on the attack ripping through Benghazi.
No groups have yet claimed responsiblity for the attack.
The explosion came on the first anniversary of an attack by militants on the United States consulate in Benghazi, which also coincided with the anniversary of September 11, leaving four American diplomats dead, including the US Ambassador in Benghazi Chris Stevens.
Benghazi, home of the 2011 Arab Spring uprising that toppled the former leader Muammar Qaddafi, has been rocked by a wave of deadly attacks in recent months targeting security force officers and members of the judiciary, many of whom served the previous regime, along with western diplomats.
