Iran's new president Hassan Rowhani has to tackle with series of challenges, first and foremost economy.
Rowhani needs to solve the nuclear tension with the West, and repair the damage caused by the sanctions on economy caused by his precedessor Ahmedinejad's 8 years of tenure.
Rowhani is not expected to make a change on nuclear program because of the influence of religious leader Ali Hamaney.
Nevertheless the new leader might soften the discourse towards the West, which, together with his years-long negotiations experience at UN, might lead to opening of diplomatic channels in the long-term.
In domestic politics realm, as well, the only reformist candidate's "surprising" victory brings the hope that the Ahmedinejad-term's internal debates would come to an end.
Rowhani, an experienced diplomat, speaking 5 languages with a European education, is commented to be a unifying actor symphatethic to different segments of inside and outside Iran.
