Egyptian authorities on Sunday denied Yemeni Nobel peace prize winner Tawakkol Karman entry into the country.
Karman's passport was held for two hours before being told she was persona non grata.
Karman, a journalist, human rights activist and politician, has been very critical of the army's ouster of elected President Mohamed Morsi.
She reportedly planned to visit Rabaa al-Adawiya Square, the site of the main sit-in staged by Morsi supporters.
At 32, she became the youngest Nobel Peace Laureate and the second Muslim woman to win the prestigious prize.
