A group of 8 U.S. senators will reportedly travel to Ukraine Thursday amid heightened tensions as the country’s Crimea prepares for a referendum this weekend.
According to media reports, senior Senator John McCain will lead the bipartisan group. Joining him will be Senators John Barasso, Jeff Flake, Ron Johnson, John Hoeven, Richard Durbin, Sheldon Whitehouse, and Christopher Murphy.
The group is set to meet with Ukrainian officials and will travel to Kiev and other cities during their trip.
