Another round of failed peace talks between Palestine and Israel could lead to an increasing isolation of Israel, EU Ambassador to Israel Lars Faaborg-Andersen said.
In an interview with Israel's channel 2, Andersen said enforcement agencies and private sector companies would take steps towards boycotting Israel if peace negotiations fail.
Andersen reiterated that Israel’s building of settlements in the West Bank has caused some EU pension companies to cut off relations and boycott Israel.
Sweden and Denmark’s largest banks – Swedish Nordea Bank and Danske Bank – announced last week that they would boycott Israeli banks because they operate on Palestinian territories.
Andersen’s comments come a few days after US Secretary of State John Kerry warned against any boycotts of Israel.
Rocket fired from Gaza into Israel: Netanyahu spokesman
A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel caused no injuries, a spokesman for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday.
"A rocket was fired this morning by terrorists from the Gaza Strip at southern Israel. No casualties or damage reported," Ofir Gendelman declared via Twitter.
According to Israeli media reports, the rocket landed in Eshkol in southern Israel – amid blaring air-raid sirens – near the border with Gaza.
No group has claimed responsibility for the alleged rocket attack.
In November 2012, Israel signed an Egypt-brokered ceasefire deal with Gaza-based resistance groups.
The truce followed eight days of unrelenting Israeli raids on the strip that left 190 Palestinians dead and more than 1,500 injured.
