ISLAMABAD
Former Pakistani President Parwaz Musharraf appeared at the Pakistani Court on Terror for his role in declaring a state of emergency back in 2007 and for placing certain high judges on house arrest.
Chief Judge at the Court on Terror, Kauser Abbas Zahidi decided to try Musharraf under arrest and gave Musharraf two weeks to prepare his defense.
Musharraf was taken to the Islamabad police center.
Experts expect Musharraf to be kept under house arrest in the next two weeks as he is on top of the list of targets by various terror organizations and security in prisons are not satisfactory.
Musharraf returned to Pakistan in March.
The 69-year-old former leader Musharraf wanted to participate in the elections of Pakistan in May but he was banned from doing so by the Pakistani elections committee.
