GAZA CITY

Israel carried out a number of mock raids on the Palestinian Gaza Strip early Thursday.
Loud explosions could be heard across the coastal enclave, an Anadolu Agency correspondent reported from the scene.
According to Palestinian security sources, no Palestinian targets were actually struck in the mock raids.
On Tuesday, Israeli jet fighters carried out four raids on the strip targeting two poultry farms east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. The raids also targeted a tunnel discovered by Israeli troops near Gaza's border with the self-proclaimed Jewish state.
Israeli aircraft also bombed a training camp run by the Saraya al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, in the northern town of Beit Lahia.
