ANKARA
Nizar Amer, the spokesperson for the Embassy of Israel in Ankara, has denied the statement of Palestinian Ambassador Nabil Maarouf to Turkey who on Tuesday defended that there were currently 750,000 Palestinians in the Israeli jails.
Releasing a statement on Wednesday, Amer said that the statement of Maarouf about 750,000 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails was not true and such false statements did not contribute to solving the long-standing conflict between the two sides.
The Israeli Embassy spokesperson said that according to the Palestinian Human Rights Association, "Addamer", there are 4489 Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli jails and the same numbers are given by various organizations from both sides.
