Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR), a non-governmental organization based in Ramallah, described the list published by Isreal ahead of renewed peace talks to free 26 Palestinian prisoners as "disappointing".
Fouad el-Hafesh, head of the PCHR, said the list should have been decided with Palestinian people.
"We are pleased for those who will be released," said Hafesh. "However Palestinian people were not included in determining the names of the prisoners to be freed. There is no one on the list from Jerusalem, the ones to bee freed are mostly from Gaza."
Referring to the list, Hafesh said 14 prisoners will be transferred to Gaza and 12 to the West Bank despite the fact that most of the Palestinian prisoners were from West Bank.
The names of 26 prisoners have been published on the Israel prison service's website on Monday.
Israel had announced to free 104 Palestinian prisoners to pave the way for a resumption of US backed peace talks.
