Death toll reached 270 in Qusayr town of Syrian Homs city where Assad forces and Hezbollah militants have been staging operations in the last 17 days.

Also, more than 2,400 people were injured during the operations, Syrian Human Rights Committee (SNHR) stated on Wednesday.

SNHR noted that 110 of the killed people were opponents, adding that some of the wounded people died due to lack of medical equipment in the field hospital in Qusayr.

SNHR said that Hezbollah snipers did not allow wounded people to be transferred out of the town.

Forces loyal to the Assad regime had retaken Wednesday the strategic town of Qusair near the Lebanese border.

A statement released by the Free Syrian Army (FSA) said Wednesday that the regime's army had launched air and ground attacks throughout the night which killed and injured many civilians, and the FSA forces had withdrawn from the town to prevent further damages to civilians.

Syrian Revolution General Commission (SRGC) expressed concern over the possibility of a massacre by the regime's army and Hezbollah, while International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) released a statement saying civilians in Qusair were under imminent threat, and called on the wounded people to be moved away from the area.

Qusair has been the center of fighting since May 18 between rebels and Syrian troops backed by fighters from the Hezbollah, left may people killed and injured.
