Citizens in Gracanica are optimistic. Petković Stanojka expects positive changes following the local elections such as "to find a job, to get employed".
Sladana Bandur hopes to get a job as well. Answering the question about the importance of local elections for Serbian community in Kosovo, she said she expects "something better in any case, especially for young population."
In northern Mitrovica, in the north of Kosovo, only 7.09 percent of voters went to ballot boxes till 03:00 p.m. Northern Mitrovica is a municipality with Serbian majority as well, but during the election campaign citizens were called on to boycott elections.
Total turnout of voters who went to ballot boxes in entire Kosovo till 3:00 p.m. Sunday was 31.91 percent.
Valdete Daka, president of Central Election Commission, said that police reported 15 cases of obstruction in election process. She added that there are no detained or arrested among those people.
Around polling places, Kosovo police observes the election process, as well as domestic and foreign observes present nearballot boxes. Ballot boxes will be closed at 07:00 p.m.
