TRIPOLI
Speaking at a press conference, the Chairman of the Libyan General National Congress, Muhammad al-Mugaryaf underlined that he temporarily suspended the works of the Congress as there was not a safe hall where the Libyan deputies could meet in and to prevent the repetition of violent incidents of March 5 against the Libyan deputies.
Al-Mugaryaf gave no details about how long the activities have been suspended.
A group of Libyan protestors on March 5 raided the Libyan General National Congress and threatened the chairman and deputies with death. Al-Mugaryaf then had announced that they would not work under the armed threats of illegal groups.
