ANKARA
Turkey's ruling AK Party proposed Turkish Parliament to adopt a Constitutional amendment in order to hold local elections earlier than it was scheduled.
The AK Party signed the proposal together with the opposition Nationalist Movement Party (MHP).
The proposal envisages an additional provisional article to Constitution, thus, the local elections will be held earlier than scheduled.
Local elections was scheduled for 2014. It will take place earlier, on October 27, 2013 if the proposal is adopted.
