WASHINGTON
United States (US) President Barack Obama discussed Syria in phone calls with British Prime Minister David Cameron and French President Francois Hollande on Friday.
Obama spoke with Cameron and Hollande as part of their continuing consultations on the Assad regime’s use of chemical weapons on August 21, the White House said.
"Possible military strike to retaliate against a Syrian chemical weapons attack" was high on the agenda.
The two leaders, Obama and Hollande agreed that the international community could not tolerate the use of chemical weapons and had held the regime accountable and sent a strong message that the use of chemical weapons was not acceptable.
