ANKARA
Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, secretary general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), has stated that they will bring the Israeli violations against Aqsa Mosque to UN General Assembly.
In a written statement Ihsanoglu said that the OIC is determined to raise the issue of Israeli aggression on Al-Aqsa mosque at the UN General Assembly
Condemning Israeli police storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem to secure access to the site for Jewish settlers, Ihsanoglu stated that the Islamic world will not remain silent to the issue for long.
The secretary general also called on the UNESCO, the UN Security Council and its Islamic member states to fulfil their responsibilities in preserving international peace and security and to compel Israel to halt aggressions perpetrated by extremists and prevent them from increasing tension in the region.
The UN General Assembly meeting started on Wednesday and will continue till October 8, 2013 in New York.
