RAMALLAH (AA) - Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned Canada over Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird's meeting with Israeli Minister of Justice Tzipi Livni in East Jerusalem.
A statement from the MFA said Canadian representative Catherine Frche was summoned.
The statement said that the meeting was against international agreements and UN resolutions. The ministry condemned Baird's attitude and told Frche that Baird's attitude was against international resolutions.
Canadian FM John Baird met with Israeli Justice Minister Livni in East Jerusalem last week. Palestinian administration said that the meeting meant Canada recognized Israel's occupation of Jerusalem.
On the other hand, Palestinian government in Gaza said Baird's attitude was an indicator of western people's policies on supporting Israel and denying the rights of Palestinians.
