SARAJEVO, Bosnia and Herzegovina
The campaigns for the sixth presidential elections in Croatia since its independence in 1991 have got under way.
Four candidates taking part in the presidential election, scheduled for December 28, officially began their campaigns on Tuesday.
Among the candidates are incumbent President Ivo Josipovic, Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic of the Croatian Democratic Union and Milan Kujundzic of the Alliance for Croatia.
At 25 years of age, Ivan Vilibor Sincic, an independent candidate supported by citizen's organization Living Wall which campaigns to stop tenants being evicted over defaults on bank loan repayments, is the youngest candidate to participate in the electoral race, according to the State Election Commission.
Every candidate has the right to spend 8 million kuna (about €1.04 million) on election campaigns, under the supervision of the State Elections Commission, until they are halted on December 26.
