French Foreign Minister Lauren Fabius said on Sunday that a "reaction with force" would be needed if it were proven that the Syrian regime had used chemical weapons against its people.
In an official visit to Israel, Fabius called on the international community to react to the latest incidents in Syria.
"If the international community does not respond, people will wonder who is trustworthy" said Fabius.
Israeli President Shimon Peres described the latest incidents in Syria as "indecent images of modern history".
- "This atrocity must be stopped"
Gathering together with Fabius, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, "I know France shares the same concerns over the ongoing tragedy in Syria with Israel. The Syrian regime is committing a crime against its own people. It is really shocking, and this atrocity must be stopped."
Blaming Iranian government for helping the Syrian regime, Netanyahu added: "Assad regime is the customer of Iran and Iran is using the region as a testing area. Iran observes the effects of the chemical weapons with this event."
