Syrian regime forces killed 1,730 children aged under ten since March 2011, beginning of the civil unrest in Syria, Syrian National Coalition for Opposition and Revolutionary Forces (SMDK) said on Wednesday.
The Free Syrian Army complied with all international legislation in regards to the protection of children, the statement said, adding that the Syrian regime killed 1,730 children aged under ten since March 2011.
The demand to set the children detained in Dara'a free had sparked the revolution, SMDK reminded.
The use of children in military operations and as human shields were condemned in the statement released.
SMDK also reiterated their call to the international society and Friends of the Syrian People Group to support the opposition, which was the only way to solve the Syria crisis.
