67 people from opposition groups were killed with heavy weapons in the attacks of regime forces on Thursday in Syria, activists said.
Assad forces attacked the locations where opposition forces were deployed by using howitzers, rockets, warplanes, and killed a total of 67 people. 19 killings were recorded in the suburbs of Damascus, 20 in Aleppo, 9 in Daraa, 7 in Homs, 6 in Idlib, 4 in Deir al-Zor and 2 in Quneitra, according to the press release by the Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR).
The statement noted that 5 children and 4 women were among the deceased, while many others were wounded.
According to the SNHR press release, Free Syrian Army (FSA) troops were able to cause the crash of a warplane trying to bomb Seraqib town in Idlib.
It stated that Assad forces attacked to numerous suburbs with rockets, artillery, howitzers, land-to-land missiles as well as warplanes, and that houses in attacked regions had suffered damage.
Meanwhile, warplanes moved on the Maalula town of Damascus which has a dense Christian population, and clashes occured in Kalamoon, Darayya, Mudamiyeh and East Guta between the armed opposition and Assad forces.
Syrian official news agency (SANA), on the other hand, announced that security forces had rendered many armed groups ineffective with operations in various cities, and had seized weapons while destroying their vehicles.
