Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reiterated its call for its citizens living in Syria to leave the country, "while there is still time."
Issuing a written statement, the foreign ministry said "Our citizens who are still in Syria must leave the country for security reasons. Citizens in need of help should urgently contact our Embassy."
The statement stressed that it would be more difficult for Ukrainian citizens to exit Syria and evacuation could only be conducted under hard conditions in case an international war broke out and the security status worsened.
Within 2013, 238 Ukrainian citizens have been evacuated from Syria while the figure is 730 in total since the onset of the two-year civil war in Syria.
According to Ukrainian Foreign Ministry and Ukrainian Embassy to Syria records, there are still 350 Ukrainian citizens in war-torn Syria.
